Samsung’s new Galaxy SmartTag Plus is now available in the U.S. for pre-order

Samsung introduced the Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag Plus for the first time in January, when it announced the Galaxy S21 series. The small device connects to Samsung’s SmartThings app and allows a Galaxy smartphone to find that device or allows the device to find the Galaxy smartphone. The Galaxy SmartTag Plus is finally available for pre-order at B&H Photo in the USA.

Smart Tag Plus uses a combination of ‘UWB’ and Bluetooth 5.0 to allow AR tracking with the Galaxy phone when you are closest. Battery life is also significantly shorter on the SmartTag Plus, which is rated for 5 months, while the standard SmartTag is rated for up to 300 days.

The new SmartTag Plus sells for $ 39 and is currently only available for ordering in black mode with orders starting on April 12th. The pattern (review here) sells for $ 29 on the Samsung website, but can be found cheaper on Amazon in black and ends in “oats”.
