Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Active 3 now available in the US

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 3, announced globally in September last year, is now available in the US from $ 489.99. It is a rugged 8-inch Android tablet designed primarily for manufacturing, retail and workplaces, with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Samsung goes so far as to say that it passed tests against 23 environmental conditions, including vibrations and high altitude, to meet the military standard MIL-STD-810. An IP68 S Pen is included in the box as it is a case that protects against drops of up to 1.5 meters.

The touch screen of the Tab Active 3 is designed to be used even with work gloves, although it is not “extremely resistant gloves or mittens”. It also offers three physical navigation buttons, as well as two programmable buttons that can act as shortcuts for certain applications.

Its 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front cameras are optimized for barcode scanning and a removable 5,050 mAh battery is included. Although it comes with Android 10, Samsung says that an update to Android 11 will come. It will be sold with 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage, expandable by microSD card slot.

Galaxy Tab Active 3 is now available from Samsung partner distributors and Samsung.com. It starts at $ 489.99 for a Wi-Fi only version and $ 589.99 for the LTE model. Samsung says it will remain available for purchase for three years.
