Samsung wins with shell-type cell phone charging cases for wireless headsets

It turns out that the big news last week was not that Samsung finally abandoned the bizarre bean design for its wireless headphones, is that the company plans to dominate the demographics of “children of the late 90s” with a loading hood that camouflages the Galaxy Buds Pro as a retro cell claw.

Days after a new product category was announced, accessories for these products began to leak, and if you’ve been using a set of Apple AirPods for a few years, you’ve probably seen hundreds of ways to adorn and protect your tiny charging case. But accessory manufacturers tend to focus on the most popular products, and last year’s Samsung Galaxy Buds Live is still not that. That’s probably why, from the beginning, Samsung itself created some fun protective cases for its new Galaxy Buds Pro turning wireless headphones into a Samsung Anycall T100 or Anycall E700 retro phone (not functional).

Some sites are reporting that the covers of the Anycall charging case are only available as gifts in the store when Galaxy Buds Pro headsets are purchased in person from retail stores in South Korea. Samsung website list them as an optional add-on if you buy Galaxy Buds Pro online, adding about $ 30 to the $ 200 headset cost. That’s not exactly cheap, you can get a whole pair of decent but basic wireless friends for $ 30, but for those of us who bought our first cell phones 20 years ago, nostalgia here can almost be impossible to resist.
