Samsung may soon launch a cheaper version of its Galaxy Tab S7

Android tablets generally lag far behind Apple’s iPad lineup. But if there’s an OEM that can be competitive, it’s Samsung. The company produced the fantastic Galaxy Tab S7 last year, and a new rumor suggests that we are about to see the launch of a more affordable version.

Twitter account WalkingCat published what appears to be marketing material for the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite. There is not a ton of information to accompany the image, but we learned some important things. That is, the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will feature a 12.4-inch screen and 5G connectivity. The device also allegedly supports Samsung’s Galaxy Continuity feature, which allows users to receive calls and messages from a compatible Galaxy phone.

When the Galaxy Tab S7 came out last year, we had nothing but praise for the tablet. In fact, Nirave Gondhia of XDA found the device so good that it sold its iPad Pro. Few tablets can match the high quality of the Apple iPad line, so choosing the Tab S7 instead of an iPad Pro is a great compliment.

The alleged Tab S7 Lite is unlikely to be as powerful as the Tab S7. We can probably expect diluted specifications and differences in build quality. But it should be more affordable, and you’ll have a larger 12.4-inch screen to match the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. This device also featured a 10,090mAh battery and up to 8 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S7 was launched for $ 649. We are not sure how much the Galaxy Tab S7 Lite will be sold at retail when it is released, but we expect to be in the $ 499 (or even cheaper) range. According to the image shared by WalkingCat, the new tablet will be available in June this year, alongside the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, which would have an 8.7-inch screen and a thin metallic design.
