Samsung is releasing the second pre-release update of the Galaxy S21 firmware

Samsung has released another firmware update for the Galaxy S21 series. In fact, the new flagship trio has yet to reach customers, but the company has already released a first firmware update in anticipation of the phone’s imminent launch on the market, while a second release is now taking place for the Galaxy S21 line in numerous regions.

Given that the Galaxy S21 series has yet to hit the market, details on the changelog for the second update are non-existent, but we can take a guess and assume that both firmware updates released so far are intended to address any issues left behind during o Galaxy S21 / One UI 3.1 development process.

The Galaxy S21’s flagship trio is available for pre-order and will begin shipping to customers later this week on January 29. The line runs Android 11 and One UI 3.1, and the firmware is virtually complete, although there are some bugs needed to be addressed. SmartThings, for example, does not seem to be working very well on the Galaxy S21 Ultra running pre-release firmware, leading to massive battery losses.

Although it is unclear what changes the new update introduced in the Galaxy S21 series, the new firmware (versions G991BXXU1AUAB / G996BXXU1AUAB and G998BXXU1AUAC) will be waiting for customers after unpacking the phones, assuming that an even more recent update will not be released by Samsung before that. Update: A screenshot showing the latest changelog for the Galaxy S21 Ultra firmware update was shared by a Reddit of the user. He mentions improvements in the camera and overall performance, and weighs about 278 MB.
