Samsung, this year, may have reached its lowest sales volume in almost a decade, according to reports from South Korea. The handset maker apparently sold less than 300 million devices alone, reports GizChina. Much of the credit goes to the pandemic here as well. The reports said that Samsung’s total shipments through the end of the third quarter were 189.4 million units and the year’s total shipments reached 270 million.
While these numbers are definitely low, it could be the same with other handset brands, as the pandemic has affected almost every brand and business.

But that is not preventing the Korean smartphone maker from returning in 2021. It is said that the company will bring several 5G smartphones next year. He will also be focusing heavily on foldable devices at an ‘affordable’ price. “Affordable”, in this case, probably refers to the price of the folders ranging from $ 1,300 to $ 2,000 at the moment.
TM Roh, president of mobile for Samsung, recently gave many tips on Samsung’s roadmap. As far as we know, Samsung will launch the Samsung Galaxy S21 series at this January event. Interestingly, Roh also hinted that S Pen support will reach more of its smartphones and that Samsung intends to expand its arsenal of foldable phones with “less expensive” options.
It could also mean, rumors say, that the Note line could come to an end soon, at least as a premium flagship in the Samsung line. But a separate report says the Note line will continue in 2021.
