Samsung Galaxy F62 is launched in India with 7000mAh battery, Exynos 9825

After several leaks and teasers, Samsung finally pulled out its new Galaxy F62 in India today. Succeeding last year’s Galaxy F41, the latest entry in the Galaxy F series raises expectations with some impressive hardware in the low-end segment, as it appears to challenge current Xiaomi and Realme dominators. The Galaxy F62 has a huge battery, a powerful processor and capable camera hardware, which is sure to give companies like Mi 10i and Realme X7 a run for their money.

The Galaxy F62 features a 6.7 inch Super AMOLED Full HD + panel on the front covered by Gorilla Glass 3. It is a 60Hz panel. At the rear, you’ll find a quad camera setup, consisting of a 64 MP Sony IMX682 sensor, a 12 MP wide-angle camera and 5 MP macro and depth sensors. There is a 32 MP selfie camera on the front. The device also comes with Single Take mode, presented with the Galaxy S20 series line, which Samsung says can now take up to 10 photos and 4 videos.

The processing package is also very powerful, with Samsung’s Exynos 9825 octa-core home SoC leading the charge, paired with the Mali-G76 GPU, up to 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 3.0 flash storage.

However, it is the huge 7,000 mAh battery that makes headlines here, and with good reason. Except for Samsung’s Galaxy M51, you won’t find any other smartphone in the mid-range segment that offers a battery of this size. The Galaxy F41 already had a very large 6,000mAh battery, so Samsung pushing things further with the Galaxy F62 is commendable. The battery is charged using a 25 W fast charger that comes with the phone.

Other highlights of the Galaxy F62 include a 3.5mm audio connector, microSD card holder, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC and support for reverse wired charging. The phone runs Android 11 ready to use with Samsung’s One UI Core 3.1 on top and supports Knox 3.7, Samsung Pay and Quick Switch.
