The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro was practically confirmed after a hearing of the rumors of real wireless headsets appeared on the tech giant’s own website.
As detected by SamMobile, Samsung Canada listed the Galaxy Buds Pro on its website, confirming the name and model number (SM-R190).
Unfortunately, this is all the information included in the list, without a word about the price or official release date.
However, we may not have to wait long to learn more. Galaxy Buds Pro is expected to be announced along with the Samsung Galaxy S21, which is supposed to be released on January 14, 2021.
Promising specifications
Leaks and rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro have been circulating seriously in recent weeks – and if the rumors are true, they will be the company’s best wireless headphones to date.
So far, we’ve heard that Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro will come with active noise cancellation and support for Dolby Atmos – making it a potential alternative to Apple AirPods Pro for Android users.
The headphones also come with AKG-tune audio, longer battery life than their predecessors, support for Bluetooth 5.1 and USB-C charging. These specs certainly look promising, but Samsung’s mixed history when it comes to audio devices means that we are moderating our expectations; Galaxy Buds Plus, for example, was disappointed by limited audio codec support and a disappointing IPX2 water resistance rating.
Still, we’re excited to see what Samsung comes with – and at a price of $ 199 (about £ 110 / AU $ 260), Galaxy Buds Pro could harm competing headsets with support for surround-based sound on object, including Apple’s premium buttons
