OWINGS MILLS, Maryland – Baltimore Ravens bettor Sam Koch was placed on the reserve / COVID-19 list on Wednesday, putting his 15-year running streak at risk.
Koch was prevented from training on Wednesday after his most recent COVID-19 test was inconclusive, a source told ESPN. He hasn’t lost a game since he was called up in the sixth round by the Ravens in 2006, playing in a franchise record of 239 consecutive games.
Further tests will determine how long Koch will be gone.
Koch’s potential loss comes days before the end of the Ravens’ critical season at Cincinnati Bengals. Baltimore (10-5) can guarantee a spot as a wild card by winning the Cincinnati.
If Koch is out, kicker Justin Tucker will likely replace him. Tucker averaged 40.5 yards at 155 punts in Texas.
The other issue is that Koch is the holder of extra points and field goals. The tight end Mark Andrews had a few moments as a starter on the training ground.
