Arlington police are looking for a man who they said killed a convenience store clerk on Sunday morning.
At about 5 am, a customer entered the EZ Mart at block 100 on East Bardin Road and found the clerk unanswered on the floor behind the counter, police said.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the store.
Police said surveillance footage from the store showed a man entering the store at around 3:30 am, shooting the victim several times and taking several items from the store.
The man fled on foot east of Bardin, police said.
The police described the suspect as a black man with a slender build and long hair, wearing a red baseball cap, jacket and a dark colored shirt.
No calls were made or the alarm sounded in the store before the customer who found the man entered, police said.
Just before the shooting, someone else had been at the store. The police hope to speak to this client to determine if he saw anything.
EZ Mart offered a $ 5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest and conviction for the crime. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477. Tips can also be made by calling Detective Jennifer Rodriguez at 817-459-5650.
