The SAG Awards are taking a “shorter, better” approach to this year’s ceremony, which will consist of a pre-recorded one-hour broadcast, our sister site Variety reports.
The program – which will have neither a presenter nor a set – will consist of a mixture of announcements from the winners, excerpts from the comedy and mini-speeches by the performers with the signature of the SAG Awards “I Am An Actor”.
“We’re trying to have a unique award ceremony in an hour and get people talking, which rarely happens [with an awards show], ‘Dude, I wish we had more,’ said executive producer Todd Milliner Variety.
The program will air on Sunday, April 4 at 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT on TNT and TBS.
