Sacramento Kings’ Marvin Bagley III fractured his left hand during the game against Charlotte Hornets

Kings striker Marvin Bagley III fractured his left hand in the first half of Sacramento’s 122-116 loss to Charlotte Hornets on Monday night.

The great man of the third year left the game with 2:59 remaining in the first half, having already registered 12 points in 6-in-9 shots, three rebounds and a block in 16 minutes. An X-ray administered at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte revealed a fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his left hand, according to the team.

Bagley will undergo more medical treatment in the coming days, and an update on his potential recovery schedule will be provided, the team said.

It is unclear how Bagley suffered the injury.

“I’m still really sorry for him,” said Kings coach Luke Walton. “He worked a lot this year. I said all year, he continued to take big steps, and he was putting on a big game tonight. We will miss him, miss him there on the floor with us. We miss him, but do that’s part of a team. We will be there to help him and we need to find a way to get other players to come in and try to fill in what he was doing for us. ”

Bagley’s average score has risen each month this season – from 11.8 points per game in December to 13.8 points in January to 15.2 points in 51.9% pitches in February before his injury reached his fifth game played in March.

It is yet another setback for the ex-runner-up in the 2018 draft, who played just 13 games last season due to several injuries, including a fractured right thumb and lateral sprain of his right foot.

“The guy has played very well, works hard and it’s a shame, but that’s part of it,” said point guard Tyrese Haliburton. “We have to find out. There is no magic potion to cure it, so we have to find out without it. He will still be with us every day, rooting for us and being a great teammate. ”

The Kings (15-24) have lost 13 of the last 16 games.
