Russell Wilson to Chicago! Patriots draft stunner!

This is less about Russell Wilson – and more about the overall Chicago Bears concept.

What are we trying to do here?

Fans of this organization have been suffering with Mitchell Trubisky, Nick Foles, Chase Daniel, Mike Glennon and Matt Barkley at the center since Jay Cutler ended his good but not excellent career. The two decades before Cutler have not been more beautiful in the most important position in sports.

For this blogger? Exhaustion set in.

Verbally hitting Trubisky has lost any sense of adventure. I don’t trust Ryan Pace to move the team forward, but the tough general manager would cover a thousand sins when negotiating with Wilson. It would cost a package, but so what? Wilson would alter the Bears on an almost spiritual level.

His presence would repair the fences with the unfortunate Allen Robinson, marked by the franchise, who has also been forever stuck with stinky passersby since his salad days with Blake Bortles in Jacksonville. The 8-8 playoff team that no one believed in last season would arrive in September as a dangerous heavy NFC.

A final drip effect: Wilson’s departure (in this exercise) takes Sam Darnold from a Seattle tractor away from the Jets, pairing former USC star with former Trojans coach Pete Carroll.
