Russell Wilson Drawing of Seahawks Commercial Interest

Some “teams” asked about Russell Wilson, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL.com. However, the Seahawks rejected these suitors, because they have no interest in negotiating with the franchise’s quarterback.

It is no surprise that the Seahawks rejected calls for the future Hall of Fame. The quarterback carousel caused Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff to change places and others may travel in the coming weeks, but Wilson didn’t move. There may be other options for ambitious teams still looking for the Seattle star, including the Eagles QB Carson Wentz and Raiders signal caller Derek Carr.

Clubs have tried to assess Wilson in the past, but these conversations have not gone very far. One of those conversations took place in 2018, when the Browns considered exchanging general choice # 1 or # 4 for him. Wilson was only 29 at the time, but he was already one of the best QBs in the game. To think about moving it, the Seahawks would like an offer that includes both picks.

Wilson, 33 in November, established a new personal watermark with 40 touchdowns last year on his way to yet another Pro Bowl selection. He also recorded 4,212 passing yards in 2020 – seven years before a new career record.
