Rupert Grint said fame is the only topic he and his former “Harry Potters” castmates Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe never talk about.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, Grint was discussing how he was finding parenthood after the birth of his daughter on Wednesday in May 2020.
Grint, who currently stars in the Apple TV horror series “Servant”, told The Times that despite loving this role, he “always toyed with the idea of quitting acting”.
Grint said: “Becoming a father has increased these feelings. Don’t get me wrong, I love working on ‘Servant’ and I feel extremely comfortable in a TV setting,” said Grint.
“But Potter happened at such a young age and I found it difficult to deal with the fame side of things. If I see Dan [Radcliffe] or Emma [Watson], fame is the only thing we never talk about. “
Grint went on to talk about the level of fame he, Radcliffe and Watson have thanks to “Potter” and says that although he did not compare them to the Beatles, he thinks the three have experienced “a little bit” of the level of intense fame that the Beatles had.
“I am forever grateful to Potter fans and I never refuse a selfie, but sometimes I miss my anonymity,” said Grint. “At least the blockade allowed me to wear a mask. I thought about doing one with Dan’s face on it.”
The actor, who recently said he earned a “bad reputation” by acting in “Potter” when he couldn’t stop laughing during the scene of Dumbledore’s funeral, mentioned what kind of path he would take if he ever took the plunge and walked away from Act. It turns out that Grint is a huge fan of carpentry and construction.
“Before the blockade, I always went to B&Q, buying more tools. And I just started my own miniature ceramic production line. If I nap on Wednesday, I throw some clay on the wheel and make small jugs and bowls . “
Grint, Radcliffe, Watson may not have much time to hang out with their respective busy schedules, but Radcliffe had time to send Grint a text of congratulations when his daughter was born. Radcliffe said to Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live”: “It’s also, like, super weird for me to think we’re all at the age we’re having kids, but we definitely do.”
