Rumors of Neal Brown Squashes in South Carolina

Perhaps you saw over the weekend that West Virginia Mountaineers coach Neal Brown was linked to the currently open South Carolina coach position. The tweets around the head coach increased fervently.

Of course, this led fans to denigrate South Carolina’s work and criticize the current coach for leaving before the reconstruction was completed. South Carolina is not a step. It is not a step up, but let’s be a little honest, it is not a step down. Side. Yes, we can agree that it is a lateral movement. Is it easier to win here or there? It probably depends on the coach. As for Neal, being angry with the coach before he says a word is stupid.

The head coach wasted no time when asked about the current vacancy and his involvement.

I think it’s good because it means that people realize that we’re doing something good. But I’m not a candidate there. – West Virginia Head Coach, Neal Brown

Here it is. Brown is not a candidate for South Carolina. For my part, I stated that Neal for SC did not make much sense, more in the sense of Carolina than of Neal. Neal is currently 10-10 in his WVU tenure and has a win over a team with a winning record (Kansas State 2019). This is not the type of hiring you do when you want to build a fan base. This does not mean that Neal would not be a fantastic contract, it is simply not a contract made by you. Part of the reason why we coveted Brown was because of his three seasons of 10 wins at Troy. If he was 25-14 years old, that shine is not so bright.

If South Carolina was really interested in Neal, then we should be happy. It should help to cement that we have a good coach if other teams are already interested in him. I hope Neal will stay here for at least a few more years, and in that time, we will do some really special things.
