Speculating about the rumors surrounding professional wrestling is a favorite pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to watching the games. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors spread across the professional wrestling rumors factory.

Important reminder: rumors are just that – rumors. None of this was confirmed as a fact, it is only circulating in the rumored factory of professional wrestling. We tracked the accuracy of the rumors in a weekly article called Rumor Look Back, which you can find here. Remember, take everything with a grain of salt.

Rumors of the day:

  • PW Insider noted that there is some concern within the WWE of roster cuts that will occur after the WWE earnings report. It is not known whether the releases by Lars Sullivan and Steve Cutler are the beginning of a new wave of cuts.

  • On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that NXT fighters Karrion Kross and Austin Theory are “being prepared for the main cast”.
  • He also said that Shaquille O’Neal is not fighting at AEW Revolution on March 7 because that date conflicts with the NBA All-Star game. That’s why Shaq will be fighting in the March 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.
  • By Meltzer, Angel Garza was supposed to be in the Royal Rumble fight, but was removed from it. Meanwhile, Fightful claims that Toni Storm was Mia Yim’s replacement for the Royal Rumble, and that Kacy Catanzaro was on standby should she be needed.
  • According to Ringside News, Murphy and Bo Dallas have appeared on television, but “have received nothing to do”.
