Anonymous sources claim that the resident Evil 4 remake was partially restarted after developer M-Two stayed close to the original due to feedback in Resident Evil 3 (2020).
As previously reported, VGC that “Multiple sources of development” told them a remake of resident Evil 4 is in production and will be launched in 2022. “Dusk Golem“, a heap that previously provided information about Resident Evil 8 rumors that appear to be true, also had information about the supposed resident Evil 4 remaster.
In short, these rumors stated that the game will be controlled by M-Two, which was involved in the development of the Resident Evil 3 (2020). Many former employees of Capcom and PlatinumGames are also involved, and the game will be released in 2022 or later.
Capcom’s 2020 leaks claimed a VR version of the resident Evil 4 is also in development, exclusively for Oculus devices. These leaks had elements that became reality, such as Resident Evil Village having DLC nicknamed “Ethan’s Trauma” (revealed to be a pre-order bonus), and what was called the Battle Royale multiplayer game could be Re: Resident Evil verse.
Now, VGC has reported new information from “Various sources“AND”knowledgeable people”About M-Two. They claim that the role of M-Two has been “significantly reduced,” and that the main resident Evil developers (Capcom Division 1, also responsible for Devil May Cry) are now taking the game in a new direction.
This occurred after a major revision of the project in late 2020, allegedly due to the desire of M-Two (in the words of the VGC) “Follow the original Resident Evil 4 model faithfully.” This was partly motivated by feedback from Resident Evil 3 (2020).
Although critics praised him, fans had a more average reaction [1, 2, 3]. Criticism included how the game cut through various areas found in the original and, in general, being one step below the remake of Resident Evil 2 (2019). Our analysis also condemned the lack of replay value, being quite short, and the level design was restrictive. However, he praised the graphics and the story.
The Capcom production team allegedly wants the resident Evil 4 remake to be inspired by the original, but (in VGC’s own words) “With its own unique approach to resources, elements of history and environments not necessarily confined to the design of the original, similar to the use of Mr. X by Resident Evil 2.”
Sources told VGC that the remake would be partially restarted, with a release date postponed to 2023. Similar reviews would have happened with both Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020).
resident Evil 4 always received many compliments with almost all its doors [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9]. As such, it is understandable why “one more door” can sour players and even investors; even with the game reconstructed with precision from scratch, but with new graphics.
The popularity of the game, but no news about the remake during the resident Evil the showcase can also confirm that the game has been postponed.
