Metal Gear Solid

In a statement that is based on comments previously made by the Bloober Team that it is working on a new horror game with a “very famous game publisher”, Video Games Chronicle updated its story with the statement that Japanese publisher Konami plans to outsource its Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises for other developers to use. Any new entries in both series are years away for now, but the company’s bosses are more open to the idea of letting outside teams work on the IPs after Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps’s poor performance.

VGC claims that this change in heart is what allowed the Silent Hill franchise to be developed by a “prominent Japanese developer”. The site does not fully refute speculation surrounding the Bloober Team also working on a new entry in the survival horror series, instead suggesting that two titles may be in production. One of them is due to be revealed this summer.

How do you react to that? Which developers do you think would fit well into the Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania franchises? Share your opinion in the comments below.
