Ruby’s Diner at Huntington Beach Pier closing doors permanently

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) – It is the end of an era for an iconic restaurant on the Huntington Beach Pier. Ruby’s Diner is closing its doors permanently on Friday.

In 2018, the owner of the Ruby network filed for bankruptcy.

Customers were seen lining up outside the restaurant on Friday, waiting to have one last meal.

The restaurant has a spectacular location, right at the end of the pier.

Ruby’s replaced the previous restaurant, which fell overboard during a major storm that damaged the pier in the late 1980s.

City officials told the Orange County Register that the facility was purchased by a new group of owners who plan to open a seafood restaurant there.
