Ruby Rose, who left The CW’s Bat Woman after starring in the first season, he would return as Kate Kane, but only under the right circumstances.
“I mean, I’m obviously moving on to other roles, because I think I’ve made about three films since [leaving Batwoman], “Rose said Comic book movie. “I totally [return to the show]. I don’t think it would fit into the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back to Kate Kane a lot, but of course I would, I would do absolutely anything they wanted up to that. Rosa left Bat Woman in May 2020, subsequently citing the ongoing coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) as an important factor in her and Warner Bros. ‘decision to separate. Instead of revamping Kate, the series introduced Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, a new character who took on the Batwoman mantle in season two. “I didn’t watch the whole thing, but I did watch a few episodes, and I think it’s beautiful how they handle it. I think it’s [Ryan’s] time to shine, “added Rose.
After Rose’s departure, Bat Woman showrunner Caroline Dries promised that the series would not resort to the “Bury Your Gays” trope by killing Kate. Instead, Season 2 formed a mystery surrounding Kate’s disappearance, revealing that she was captured by Safiyah Sohail after discovering that an infamous painting secretly contains the map of Safiyah’s base of operations on Coryana Island. In the wake of this revelation, Kate’s father, Commander Kane, and ex-girlfriend Sophie Moore are now in a race with Alice to locate Coryana and rescue Kate before she has a chance to kill her as planned.
Elsewhere, Ryan has successfully filled Kate’s place as the Scarlet Knight of Gotham, but is dealing with his own problems. At the Bat Woman Season 2 premieres, Ryan was shot with a kryptonite bullet – the only weapon strong enough to penetrate the bat suit – and is gradually being poisoned to death by his injury. Now, there is only one thing that can save her: the legendary Desert Rose plant that grows in Coryana.
Bat Woman stars Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder, Rachel Skarsten as Alice, Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane and Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton-Kane. New episodes air on Sundays at 8 pm ET / PT on The CW.
