Roundup Rumor: NXT call up, WWE creative block, Royal Rumble, more!

Speculating about the rumors surrounding professional wrestling is a favorite pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to watching the games. In this daily column, we take a look at the most recent rumors produced by the professional wrestling rumors factory.

Important reminder: rumors are just that – rumors. None of this has been confirmed as a fact, it is only circulating in the rumored factory of professional wrestling. We tracked the accuracy of the rumors in a weekly article called Rumor Look Back, which you can find here. Remember, take everything with a grain of salt.

Rumors of the day:

  • When discussing Rhea Ripley’s status for the Royal Rumble, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline said that she is already “on the main list”. Its debut was supposed to take place “a few weeks ago”, but it was postponed.
  • Ringside News has been informed that the current flow of information within the WWE creative process is the worst that has ever existed. Bruce Prichard can prevent opinions from reaching Vince McMahon of almost everyone, except for a small group that includes names like Kevin Dunn, Stephanie McMahon, Roman Reigns, Triple H, Paul Heyman and Daniel Bryan.

  • PW Insider confirmed that on January 26, WWE filed a lawsuit against the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The nature of the process is unknown, but they speculate that it may be related to the inability to get an artist to the United States.

  • Fightful says the WWE is conducting a six-hour rehearsal of the Royal Rumble on Saturday (January 30) in Orlando, Florida.

  • At Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer indicated that, even though the NBA ends up deciding on March 7 as the date of its All-Star game, AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view is likely to continue as currently scheduled.
