Ross Barkley’s departure for Everton may have left a bad taste in the mouth of some fans – but that hasn’t stopped him from keeping an eye on his old club.
The England international is currently on loan at Aston Villa for a season – and is recovering from an injury.
On Tuesday night, it looks like he was watching Everton’s Premier League game with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
And he was particularly impressed with French side Lucas Digne.
“Lucas Digne, the wand on his left foot,” Barkley posted on Twitter.
Digne assisted Alex Iwobi to give Everton an early lead against Wolves in the sixth minute.
According to Opta, it was Digne’s 16th assist in the Premier League.
Wolves equalized on 14 minutes through a well-crafted goal, finished by Ruben Neves.
