With Roselia Community Day coming up, it’s time to discuss Roserade and find out how well it can work on PvP and PvE to determine if he has versatility in battle.
For the first time, a presented Pokémon will learn two unique moves at once
during your Community Day.
In February 7, 2021 (11am – 5 pm local time) Roselia, Pokémon Thorn will appear more in nature and learn Bullet seed AND Weather ball Fire when it evolved into the Pokémon Bouquet, Roserade. The event bonus will be ¼ of hatching distance with Budew hatching from the eggs.
The combination of Bullet Seed and Weather Ball Fire it can be a strong moveset that combines a quick energy gain with a spam nuke that synergizes well against the current meta Pokémon.
Statistics and movements
Max CP | Attack | Defense | Energy |
---|---|---|---|
3359 | 243 | 185 | 155 |
Roserade has 4 weaknesses being Fire, , Ice and Psychic and 5 resistances that are Grass, Electric, Fairy, Fighting and Water.
PvP Leagues
Grand League:
The first thing that comes to mind with these new changes for Roserade is the comparison with Sunny Cherim who also has access to Bullet seed and Weather ball Fire. From the statistics listed above, we can see that the Roserade Attack statistic is your impressive selling point 243, which may actually look attractive, however, keep in mind that it does not have the volume necessary to survive the load movements of most of the current target.
In this case, the shields are almost mandatory for Roserade to shine. This is not necessarily a bad thing, although when it comes to using Roserade to ‘counter’ a Pokémon, it will often be necessary to burn shields to maintain the exchange advantage.
You may be thinking “But what about Grass knot?”And although he may be a decent Grass nuclear, falls short of a shot a Azumaril what does a Ice bundle it will still take Roserade without the use of a shield.
If you are thinking of running Roserade with Grass Knot, remember that Pokémon like Venusaur and Tropius are better alternatives like Grass type of users in the Grand League due to their volume and consistent damage production. Roserade may not fit comfortably into the Grand League section, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a solid choice in all leagues, which leads us to our next format …
Ultra League (Open and Premier):
Roserade can only have a place in being an anti-meta killer in the Ultra League, both Open and Premier. The thought of a Grass + Potion type of Pokémon that will now have access to a Fire type of movement, can cause a threatening presence against the current UL goal, which includes Pokémon seen in almost all games, such as Magnezone, Swampert, Venusaur, Abomasnow, Escavalier, Melmetal and Registerel.
Have access to Sludge pump also provides a possible solution for your accountants, which include Charizard, Exeggutorand everyone’s favorite Charm users like Togekiss and Clefable.
These confrontations may seem favorable, however, take into account that Roserade is not played as a standard Grass much more versatility in a carefully structured team instead of an alternative to the standard Grass users played on UL.
With the right team composition, Roserade has the potential to shine, but it is not, in absolute terms, a substitute for any existing Pokémon, as it has a unique moveset that provides shield pressure and frightening nuclear damage.
Master League:
Roserade doesn’t have much potential in the Master League, unfortunately, despite her CP being able to achieve 3359 (at level 50). There are only a few positive matches being Magnezone, Excadrill and Swampert. In a goal highly populated by Dragon guys, Roserade just doesn’t seem to fit this league well. Weather ball Fire can be useful against Metagross but again, you will need shields to keep this fragile flower alive.
PvP Conclusion:
From what we can collect from this information, it is clear that Roserade shines stronger in the Ultra League due to the goal and its versatility. If PvP is your niche, then it is recommended to hunt a decent IV on Community Day (0 Attack, 11 Defense, 14 Stamina for PvP) with the exclusive moveset, as you will have a solid PvP game, especially UL.
PvE Analysis
If you don’t like PvP, then listen to this. Roserade currently has the highest Attack stat of any non-legendary Grass type Pokémon. That means XL Roserade will be a beast in Raids, Gym battles and GO Rocket Grunts / Leaders Team. It is considered a ‘glass cannon’, which means it will be able to do insane damage, but its defenses are low when it comes to being hit. Most things will be one shot Roserade, if not protected or avoided in Raids.
Against weak Pokémon for Grass type moves, Razor Leaf it will be the best quick move as it will provide greater damage output compared to Bullet Seed. On the other hand, Bullet Seed will generate energy faster, which means that you will get your charge movements faster, which can also provide a reliable damage output.
Conclusion
In retrospect, this Community Day may not be as much of a waste of time as many people thought from the announcement of this event. Roserade will help bring down raid bosses quickly and has usability in PvP, which is a win-win situation.
Remember to stay safe and maintain social distance while playing, if you can leave the house.
Good luck hunting Rosellia and may the bright gods be with you!
