Rosanne Boyland has been arrested for drugs several times. Finally, she came over and was clean. She even wanted to be a sobriety counselor.
But it has changed in other ways as well. She became conservative. She joined the QAnon conspiracy cult and refused to believe that Joe Biden defeated President Trump.
And his denial of Biden’s victory is what ended up leading to his death on Wednesday, during the siege of the Capitol, his family told the Associated Press. She was one of three protesters who died from medical emergencies. A woman was shot dead and a police officer was killed.
“It cost her her life,” said her sister, Lonna Cave.
Boyland, 34, from Kennesaw, Georgia, swore to the family that she would not be involved in anything violent. Cave begged her not to make the trip to Washington.
“She promised me: ‘I will be left out. I’m just going to show my support, ‘”Cave said on Friday outside his Atlanta suburban home.
The sisters fought over politics and QAnon, who claims that electronic retailer Wayfair is part of a secret conspiracy of child sex traffickers. She focused on other conspiracy theories.
“It just went off,” said Cave, 39.
Boyland was a staunch supporter of Trump, posting photos and videos of the president and posting absurd allegations, including one that the pandemic was just a way to steal the November elections.
His last post on Twitter was on Wednesday, before Trump urged his supporters to march to the Capitol, where lawmakers were debating the result of the Electoral College. She retweeted a photo of thousands around the Washington Monument.
