Actress activist Rose McGowan is speaking out in support of Lindsey Boylan, the former deputy secretary and special adviser to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who accused him of sexual harassment.
On Wednesday, Boylan wrote a post on Medium detailing an incident in which Cuomo allegedly suggested that the duo play “strip poker” while flying together after an event, among other instances of “inappropriate behavior” and harassment during his tenure at the office. governor. In an interview with Fox News, McGowan said he believes Boylan’s claims.
“I fully support Lindsey Boylan. Her truth leaks out of every word she wrote on the screen,” McGowan told us. “She, none of us, must endure what she endured. If they are doing this to her, what are they doing to the constituents? What is he going to do with what he considers the little ones? It’s monstrous.”

In his article published on Wednesday, Boylan detailed several specific cases in which Cuomo allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior. She wrote that “she complained to friends that the governor would do anything to touch me on the lower back, arms and legs”.
Cuomo allegedly encouraged Boylan to look for pictures of his alleged ex-girlfriend, telling her that “[they] they could be sisters. “In another incident at the Cuomo office in New York, said Boylan, the governor kissed her on the lips.

McGowan said Boylan’s allegations against Cuomo reflect the abuse of authority she experienced under the old Weinstein regime in the film industry. Weinstein is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for rape convictions and charges of criminal sexual intercourse.

In Cuomo’s denial, Girouard cited flight records detailing Cuomo’s plane trips in October 2017, noting that “no flight on which Lindsey was alone with the governor, a single press officer and a NYS soldier”, like her stated on the blog.

Cuomo’s press secretary also cited a joint statement by several former advisors – John Maggiore, Howard Zemsky, Dani Lever and Abbey Fashouer Collins – who shared flights with the governor and Boylan during that period and who denied that the event took place as Boylan described it.

The actress – who doubled in a previous statement that she is neither a Democrat nor a Republican – said she believed leaders like Cuomo and her leaders were fed by their power.
“It is not just taxpayer dollars that are going to fund these people’s lifestyles. It is power. They put messages in our minds,” she said.
McGowan is now calling for an investigation into the charges against the governor and said he would like to see him replaced in office. She said that what should happen next is simple: the truth.

“It’s time for some damn honesty. Sometimes the truth hurts and it’s not pretty, but guess what? We are clean,” she said. “See what happened to Tara Reade, what the machine will do to Lindsey Boylan, see what they did to me. These are powerful predators, but it is very important that we all remember that we also have power.”
Last spring, McGowan also publicly supported Reade, who accused then-Sen. Joe Biden of sexual assault, declaring on Twitter that Reade was “TELLING THE TRUTH”.
“What I would like to see is Cuomo outside. What I would like to see is your network of evil outside. It is the only way that good people can rise, whether they are Democrats or Republicans,” said McGowan.
She added: “I would like to see an honest investigation. I would like this position of power to be occupied by someone who is not dangerous and aggressive, intimidating and threatening because that is what sexual harassment is. It is abuse of power. It is trying to make the little person feel small. “

McGowan, who moved from the United States to Mexico in 2020, also caught the attention of media outlets who failed to cover such inevitable charges.
