Ronald D. Moore developing projects for the Magic Kingdom TV Universe at Disney + – Deadline

For all mankind executive producer Ron Moore is bringing the Magic Kingdom Universe to Disney +.

Moore is developing several TV projects on the streaming service that will be set at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, sources close to Deadline said.

Moore will write and executive produce the first project, entitled The Society of Explorers and Adventurers,
a series from the 20th TV set of the Magic Kingdom universe, where the theme lands and characters from Disney parks and classic films exist in another reality.

Moore is also working closely with the Disney Imagineering Team on other projects that would be the first part of a Marvel-like universe, set in the Magic Kingdom. Moore would oversee the entire franchise. Maril Davis and Ben McGinnis of Moore’s Tall Ship Productions are also involved in all projects.

Disney + and 20th TV declined to comment.

The Disney + projects come in the wake of Moore’s multi-year general contract recently signed with Disney’s 20th TV.

The first draft of this agreement is a Swiss Family Robinson series on Disney +, with which Moore is working Crazy Rich Asians director John M. Chu. Moore currently serves as executive producer on Starz’s Outlander and Apple TV + ‘s For all mankind, produced by Sony TV, where he was previously under an agreement.

The Hollywood Reporter was the first to report the news.
