Senator Mitt Romney was knocked unconscious when he crashed in Boston over the weekend, leaving him with “lots of stitches” and a black eye.
“I fell. It made me unconscious. But I’m better, ”Romney told reporters at the Capitol on Monday night.
The Utah Republican said he was visiting his grandchildren when he was injured.
With noticeable bruises under his right eye, Romney instilled a little humor in the situation.
“I went to CPAC, that was a problem,” joked the Republican legislator, referring to the Conservative Political Action Conference that ended Sunday.
Romney was not invited to the landmark event after receiving a negative reaction to his impeachment vote for former President Donald Trump.
Asked how many points he received, Romney said he was not sure.
“Many points. I don’t know how many. I asked the doctor how many stitches and she said, I don’t know, but it’s all on my eyebrow and on my lip. “
