At the Royal Rumble, Universal Champion Roman Reigns will face none other than WWE officer Adam Pearce.
Week after week, Reigns created a constant stream of chaos on Friday Night SmackDown as the head of the table, including most recently attacking Kevin Owens and throwing him from a high ledge and across a table at WWE ThunderDome in the January 1 edition of blue mark.
A week after that horrible attack, Reigns called Adam Pearce to the ring to argue with him making the fight between KO and Jey Uso, which ended in unspeakable carnage. Later, Paul Heyman informed Pearce that he pulled some strings and got him added to the Gauntlet Match that the WWE officer had created to determine Reigns’ next challenger at the Royal Rumble, a contest involving Pearce, Rey Mysterio, Sami Zayn , Shinsuke Nakamura, Rei Corbin and Daniel Bryan against each other in search of a Universal Title opportunity.
Pearce entered the last match ready to face Shinsuke Nakamura. But before the contest could begin, Reigns and Uso suddenly attacked the Artist. When Reigns threw Pearce in the ring, the unbalanced Jey superkicked him. When Reigns called the bell, Uso put Pearce on top of Nakamura to give him the Gauntlet Match victory. As a result, Pearce will challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
Don’t miss the Royal Rumble, Sunday, January 31st, starting at 7 ET / 4 PT, broadcasting live on the award-winning WWE Network.
