The Quibi team may have had trouble finding some poor guy to buy the terrible mobile forwarding streaming service before your quick death in December, but it looks like they’re still able to re-host your recently abandoned content. Per Wall Street Newspaper, the billion-dollar streamer is currently in “advanced negotiations” with Roku, Inc., which is potentially looking to buy the library in limbo. Some of the details are still vague or unavailable, such as how much the deal would cost and the availability of all the “fast bites” powered by the star shows what the original plan had to offer (since some contracts may hinder the transition, but not impossible, of according to a source).

And while we tend to scoff at the venture and its shortcomings (and come on, Jeffrey Katzenberg and friends spent $ 1.75 billion in a matter of months, they can handle some teasing), that would actually amount to a very good acquisition for the Roku Canal, which would serve as a new home for all the displaced programs. If the two parties actually reach an agreement – and there is still a chance that the whole thing will fall apart, according to WSJ—Then, all content from the former Quibi would be available exclusively on Roku’s dedicated channel, which currently offers syndicated titles. And while there may not be a high demand for a comedy about a talking sex doll starring Anna Kendrick, there may be enough curiosity among Roku users to tune in without having to pay a subscription fee.

Roku intends to increase its list of offers and with the help of its recent agreements HBO Max and NBCUniversalcertainly is on the way. This potential new deal with Quibi can only help. The big question is: how long can we expect to see the Reno 911! Rebirth appear on the device?
