Rockstar Games’ job list excited Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 5 fans

A new job list from Rockstar Games includes both Red Dead Online and GTA Online players on the console, and especially on the PC, excited. Cheating is a big problem that plagues both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. And so far, Rockstar Games hasn’t done much to remedy this problem other than banning players in waves. However, it appears that this is changing, which means that both online experiences for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 it should be much more pleasant soon.

On Twitter, Rockstar Intel writer VideoTech passed the word on a new job list from Rockstar Games to Associate Cheat Operations Analyst. Of course, the title itself suggests that this position will be focused on combating cheaters and hackers, and the wording of the job list reinforces this, noting that a responsibility that candidates should expect is to find paid cheaters and file reports related to them.

“This function involves monitoring various sources of information to identify cheaters and online mods for our titles and taking appropriate action based on that information,” says the “what we do” part of the job list. “The team is a vital component of our efforts to protect the online gaming experience of our titles and deals with complex cheating-related issues on a daily basis.”

Of course, it remains to be seen whether this is part of a larger initiative to improve anti-cheat for both games. On paper, this list of jobs is promising, but without further context, it is difficult to know whether it will have consequences.

Almost all online games with competitive elements are infested with cheaters and hackers. And fighting these cheaters and hackers is not as easy as you think. That said, some games do it better than others and Red Dead Online and GTA Online they are certainly not among those games.
