If you haven’t guessed yet, Jay-Z, Carole King and Tina Turner are among the induction candidates this year.
Other nominees are Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Chaka Khan, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren and Dionne Warwick.
The nominees will be announced in May. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2021 inauguration ceremony will take place in Cleveland, Ohio in the fall.
To be eligible, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years before the nomination year.
The public will once again have the opportunity to participate in the selective induction process.
Until April 30, fans can vote every day on the Hall of Fame website or at the museum in Cleveland. The five best artists selected by the public will form a “fan ballot” that will be computed along with the other ballots to choose the 2021 nominees.
