‘Rock Camp’ trailer: Sammy Hagar, Gene Simmons are camp counselors

A who’s who of some of the biggest rock stars of the 70s and 80s appears in the new trailer for Rock Camp, a documentary detailing a camp that, in the past 25 years, has given ordinary Joes – err, those with a few thousand dollars left over – the chance to learn and play with rock stars.

“You would have a 15-year-old son playing the drums and a dentist on the guitar,” says Alice Cooper in the clip. “If this band were a real band, it would be the strangest band of all, but cool.”

David Fishof founded Rock n ‘Roll Fantasy Camp in the late 90s, bringing the most notable names in rock and giving fans the chance to realize a classic fantasy to play with rock stars. Among the high-profile advisers featured in the film are Alice Cooper, Roger Daltrey, Slash, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Sammy Hagar, Joe Perry and several others. The film will follow four campers in particular, narrating their learning experiences. Douglas Blush is the director and producer of the film.

With the coronavirus pandemic still keeping most cinemas closed, Rock Camp will have a virtual cinema release on January 15th and will be on demand a month later, on February 16th.
