Anime fans will have mixed feelings about the Robotech Series; although it served as an introduction to Japanese animation for many during the 1980s, it is also seen as a carnage of famous franchises (Macross being one), which is a reminder of how the poorly located anime was handled at a given time.

Whatever your opinion of the series, Robotech: The Macross Saga HD Edition has just slipped into the Australian Switch eShop. It is an update to the Game Boy Advance title with the same name from 2002, originally developed by Lucky Chicken Games and published by TDK Interactive, but with revised HD visuals. GPC Games is publishing this time.

Robotech: The Macross Saga was released alongside Robotech: Battlecry on PS2, GameCube and Xbox; we may also see this fully 3D title updated soon? Games based on the series were not the best of luck; Robotech: Crystal Dreams was in development for the N64, but ended up being canceled.
