WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – Retail pharmacies in Washtenaw County are now offering COVID-19 vaccines to residents eligible to receive them, according to a social media post from the Washtenaw County Health Department.
On Friday, Rite Aid pharmacies across the county began administering vaccines to people in current eligibility groups, which include health care providers, residents and long-term care workers, public health workers, essential workers and people aged 65 and over, health officials said.
Healthcare professionals and people aged 65 and over are also being vaccinated at select Meijer pharmacies in Washtenaw County.
Supplies remain limited as doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered in pharmacies are allocated by state and local jurisdictions. Retail pharmacies depend on the qualifications of state and local jurisdictions to determine eligibility for the vaccine, health officials said.
