But Epic has begun to crack down on this popular pastime when it involves underage players.

Cody “Clix” Conrad has been involved in many gambling games. Clix is also only 16 years old. The popular professional Fortnite tweeted earlier this week that Epic sent a message directly to him to stop betting or he would be banned from the game.
“I recommend others to stop, too. Tweet this so people are watching, ”tweeted Clix.
I will no longer play or have anything to do with betting, I just received a personal message from the epic and was told to stop or it will result in a ban. Tell others to stop too, tweeting so people are made aware.

Clix followed this tweet, noting that he won’t be bothered by Fortnite for the time being due to snipers on top of Epic’s note. Many Fortnite fans were frustrated by Epic’s message to Clix and #RipFortnite started to become a trend on Twitter.
Epic has made no statement since the hashtag started spreading on social media, but this is nothing new for its popular Battle Royale. Fortnite’s official terms of service do not allow gambling of any kind outside of sanctioned tournaments. The legal age to play is also 18, which is yet another strike against Clix.
But many Fortnite players, including many of the pros, are minors. Therefore, betting regulations are likely to become a problem again. Fans are also frustrated because Epic has also recently cracked down on scrims, trying to regulate matches where professionals and fans play against each other by subscription. All of this combined worries the Fortnite community about the game, hence the rumors that Fortnite is “dying” on social media.
