Riot unveils Astra, the new controller of VALORANT

The latest Riot Games agent for the tactical sniper VALORANT It’s on the way.

The developer revealed the agent on Twitter today. Her name is Astra, she is originally from Ghana and is a new controlling agent.

“African futurism was a big inspiration for us when it came to designing Astra themes,” said John “Riot MEMEMEMEME” Goscicki, Riot’s character producer. “Once that element was brought into its development, all the pieces fit together naturally.”

Astra joins Brimstone, Omen and Viper in the controller category. It is the first controller added to VALORANT since the game’s release. Duelists Raze, Reyna, Yoru and the Sentinel Killjoy have been added since the game’s release.

Astra’s Skills

Before activating abilities C, Q and E, you need to hang some of Astra’s stars in the sky with your X ability.

Here are Astra’s skills:

Ç: Gravitational Well

Activates a star with C to form a gravitational well. Players in the area are pulled towards the center before they explode, making all players still trapped inside “fragile”.

Q: Nova Pulse

Activates a star to set off a Nova pulse. Nova Pulse invests briefly and then attacks, causing a concussion in all players in its area.

AND: Nebula

Activates a star to transform it into a nebula (smoke).

F: Dissipate

Use F on a star to dispel it, returning the star to your inventory and being placed in a new location after a delay.

Briefly dissipating forms a false (nebula) smoke at the location of the star before returning.

X: Astral Form, Cosmic Division

Activate with X to enter the astral form, where you can place stars with your primary fire key. Astra will leave her physical body behind in favor of a top-down view of the map. Your physical body will be vulnerable in this form.

When Cosmic Divide is loaded, use your secondary fire in astral form to start aiming, then your primary fire to select two locations. An infinite teleportation tunnel connects the two points you select.
