Amazon-owned Ring is today launching its cheapest smart doorbell, Ring Video Doorbell Wired, for just $ 60. The device has a completely new body, which follows the design of the more expensive Video Doorbell Pro, although in a much shorter body. Despite the low price, the camera comes with a 1080p wide-angle camera, two-way audio and the same customizable movement zones as its sisters.
Of course, the big omission here is the lack of a built-in or replaceable battery, a common feature in the regular Ring range. Given the size, effort and cost of including a cell, it makes sense for the company to offer a basic option, especially considering how many people retrofit their existing wiring. In addition, with such a low entry price, you can be encouraged to sign up for a Ring Protect Plan subscription.
