Review of the premiere of the SUPERMAN & LOIS; “The epic SUPERMAN series we’ve been waiting for”

Well, we certainly didn’t expect what. It’s fair to say that we got used to a certain tone of CW’s DC TV shows, with the titular superhero surrounded by love interests, mentors, goofy allies (here’s looking at you, Cisco), and a rinse-and- repeat weekly villain with a long wait behind the scenes to be defeated in the end. It remains to be seen whether Superman and Lois succumbs to these familiar traps and clichés, but as of now, the premiere of this series points to the network moving from the Arrow– formulates, and delivering a new exciting cinematic vision of the Man of Steel.

After a fantastic recap, which updated us on the post-Crisis in the Infinite Lands Superman, we met Clark Kent, Lois Lane and their two teenage children in Metropolis. A family tragedy takes them back to Smallville, however, and this one-hour opening film does an excellent job of laying the groundwork for a new interpretation of the world of Superman, while making it look like a great movie. budget. THE Steel man the inspiration is clear to see (we’re surprised Zack Snyder doesn’t have Executive Producer credit), but that’s not a bad thing, and what many considered a gloomy view of this iconic DC Comics character in that film was replaced by Hopeful and Superman optimist that many fans have been desperate to see on the screen for years. Jonathan and Jordan Kent are by no means a detriment to the series so far, and although the teen drama can disrupt the series, their story is currently as compelling as that of their parents.

Tyler Hoechlin has been a great Superman since he first appeared in Supergirl, but with stronger material to work here, your work really takes off. The same can be said about Elizabeth Tulloch’s Lois Lane, although we would like to see the future episode show what makes her the greatest journalist in the world. While Jordan and Jonathan, Alex Garfin and Jordan Elsass do a strong job, with the first, in particular, one to watch. Honestly, there is no such thing as a poor performance to be found in this premiere, and it helps that the cast is not giving stupid puns, finding themselves on an unrealistic and science fiction-inspired basis or following the paths we hope these CW shows will take. take along.

From a visual perspective, Superman and Lois it looks phenomenal. It looks like a series in which the CW spent a lot of money, with the battle between the Man of Tomorrow and his mysterious new archenemy looking like something we could expect to see in a big-budget superhero movie. Honestly, the show is better than it should be, and while there doesn’t appear to be any plans for Superman on the big screen in the near future, this show promises to fill that void satisfactorily (and weekly too) Dan Romer’s score is perhaps the the only part of this debut that doesn’t always work, because it fails to consistently match the epic action unfolding on the screen. The big question from here is whether Superman and Lois can maintain that level of quality; now, we’re happy that COVID means that it will remain autonomous in nature, as it doesn’t look like it would benefit from Batwoman or Flash running in Smallville for a team, but the CW really does seem to have something special in its hands with what could be the best DC TV show so far.

The epic Superman series we’ve been waiting for, the debut of the Superman & Lois series is cinematic, bold and a step in the right direction for the Man of Steel, as the CW seeks to embrace what makes this character incredible.
