Their meeting comes eight months after the pair left ABC’s reality show competition series and was replaced by current host Tyra Banks.

Bergeron hosted DWTS alongside a variety of co-hosts since his debut in 2005, while Andrews joined him as a co-host in 2014.

“Tom Bergeron will forever be part of Dancing with the stars family. As we embark on a new creative direction, he leaves the program with our sincere thanks and gratitude for his intelligence and charm that helped make this program a success, “said ABC in a statement to People in July.

“Erin is also not coming back and we appreciate everything she brought to the ballroom,” continued the statement. “Fans have been rooting for her since she originally competed as a competitor in 2010, and her characteristic sense of humor has become a hallmark of the show.”

Last fall, DWTS executive producer Andrew Llinares spoke of the duo’s departure, calling the change in the ABC series “all about evolution.”

“Any program like this that has been on the air for many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve,” he said during the second day of ABC’s virtual autumn day, for Entertainment Tonight. “So I think that changing this host is all about evolution.”

He added: “The goal was to make the show look new, to make it look new and to reach a new audience – as well as the audience that has been there for years.”
