Return of Mighty Ducks (like the bad guys) in the trailer for Disney + Reboot

The Mighty Ducks are back – with a twist – in the first official trailer for the Disney + reboot about the youth hockey team, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

Considering the 1990s Mighty Ducks film franchise was a disorganized gang of misfits from Minnesota, the reboot shows the Ducks as a strict hockey power that avoids exclusivity; essentially, the Mighty Ducks are now what the Bully Hawks were in the first film.

The 10-episode season takes place in 2021 Minnesota and follows 12-year-old Evan Morrow (Brady Noon), who, after being released from the team, works with his mother Alex (Lauren Graham) to form his own team.

As shown in the trailer, Gordon Bombay of Emilio Estevez, the trainer of the original Ducks, becomes the mentor of this new gang of oppressed.

Arriving 29 years after the 1992 film – and three years after the reboot announcement – The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers debuts on March 26 at Disney +.
