‘Rest In Peace Parker … Currency Exchange, Ripley’

After the death of actor Yaphet Kotto earlier this week, Sigourney Weaver honored the actor with a memory of his days at work on the set of “Alien”.

“Every day Yaphet Kotto surprised me on the set of ‘Alien’,” wrote Weaver. “He just did it in each scene, making the stakes higher and higher and giving each scene a terrifying reality. It was an uninterrupted master class for me and I will always be grateful to him. Rest In Peace Parker … Shift and shut down, Ripley. “

In the 1979 science fiction classic, Dennis Parker de Kotto, the chief engineer for the Nostromo, is the first person to witness the adult Alien. He also saves Ripley (Weaver), but ends up being killed by the Alien before they can escape.

Kotto talked about the death of his character in “Alien” in an interview with IGN, “I knew before opening the script that my character would not come to an end,” he said. “Because I know and movie fans know, two things happen to the brother in any film like ‘Alien’. He’s not picking up the girl and he won’t make it. He’s going to die. “

Kotto’s wife, Tessie Sinahon, revealed her death in a Facebook post on Monday night. “You played a villain in some of your films, but for me you are a true hero and for many people too,” she wrote. “A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent human being, very rare to find.”

In addition to “Alien”, Kotto appeared in the 1973 James Bond film “Live and Let Die” as the Caribbean dictator Dr. Kananga and his grotesque alter ego Mr. Big. After the success of “Live and Let Die” and “Alien”, he played major roles in the 1980 prison drama “Brubaker” and in the 1987 action film “The Running Man”, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Agent Ryan Goldhar confirmed the death of the 81-year-old man. He leaves his wife and six children.
