Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) said on Monday that he saw Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO), a curious freshman from QAnon, leading a “large group” through a tour of the Capitol in the days before the disturbances. Cohen said he did not know if anyone in the crowd subsequently participated in the January 6 violent attack on Capitol Hill. Democrats claimed that a colleague from the Republican Party took a “reconnaissance” tour of the Capitol the day before the crowd stormed the building. Over the weekend, Boebert denied that she was the member – although no one had accused her by name – saying she did not mentor “any outside group of ‘insurrectionists'”.
Speaking on CNN on Monday, Cohen – who is on the Judiciary Committee – said that Rep. John Yarmuth “updated my memories yesterday” that he had seen Boebert “taking a group of people for a walk sometime after the 3rd and before the 6th. ”Boebert has not yet publicly responded to Cohen’s comments.
