Representative Jim Jordan talks about Liz Cheney, controversies of Marjorie Taylor Greene

Representative Jim Jordan says there should be a “no confidence” vote against Republican House Speaker Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., After his support for former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment.

Jordan, R-Ohio, also expressed disapproval for comments made and conspiracy theoretical views held by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., Although he argued that her ability to serve in Congress is “between her and her constituents. “

Jordan joined Sandra Smith and John Roberts in “America Reports” ahead of a conference meeting of House Republicans to discuss the future of Cheney and Greene.

REP. JIM JORDAN: [On Cheney] “There needs to be a vote of … lack of confidence in the conference president. You cannot have the leader of, the spokesman for your conference … whose job it is to talk to the American people about the Republican position, taking a position on one of the biggest votes we have ever had in the United States Congress, against 96% of the conference it should represent.

[On Cheney and Greene] When you start having people in Washington dictating what happens to two members of Congress and what committees they can serve on, what they can do, and not leaving that decision to voters in the district, to the American people, this is a dangerous way to go down.

[On Greene] I don’t think it’s appropriate for Democrats to tell Georgia people who can represent them and what committees they can serve on.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE’S, LIZ CHENEY’S FUTURE IN BALANCE AS CASA GOP MEETING FOR CRUCIAL MEETING WEDNESDAY

No one is tolerating the observations she made. I didn’t hear any Republicans say it was appropriate.

I told the Democrats, if you continue to follow that path, continue to attack people, your First Amendment rights of free speech, where does this end? It will not stop with Republicans. It will go to all of us.

If this continues, it is just another blow to the First Amendment and that is what should scare all Americans. This is wrong. And you know it’s wrong, and the whole country knows it’s wrong. And that is why we must not tolerate this.

This is between her and her constituents, which is how it should be in a constitutional republic where we have a democracy.

[On Cheney] I always said that we need a new vote. We need to let the conference decide. I hope that’s where we get to. I hope we have a new vote. And we’ll see what happens with the conference. This is a conference decision. “
