Steelers made changes to their coaching staff this week, with more possibilities coming. Defensive coordinator Keith Butler will not be one of them.

The Steelers told Butler that I intend to retain you, Gerry Dulac from Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Butler’s contract expires next month.

The Steelers are working on a new contract for Butler, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports, with Butler planning to go year after year.

Butler, 64, does not call the signs defensive. Head coach Mike Tomlin takes care of those duties.

The Steelers could have other coach changes, by Dulac, with senior defensive assistant / secondary coach Teryl Austin interviewing the Titans today to be their defensive coordinator and quarterback coach Matt Canada interviewing the Dolphins to be the offensive coordinator.
