Tom Wilson was whistled for less than two minutes ‘interference in the Capitals’ 5-2 win over the Penguins on Thursday. Wilson was penalized after landing a final blow on the Penguins striker Mark Jankowski.
The Capitals shouted from the bank in frustration because the officers made a call while the Penguins were furious at what they thought was another dirty Wilson blow. Evgeni Malkin, of the penguin, skated to the big area, while Jankowski struggled to get up and exchange words with Wilson.
So what did they say?
Malkin “just came to talk,” explained Wilson. “When it’s so quiet there, you can have these conversations.”
According to the screenwriters who were at Capital One Arena, there was a lot more spice coming from the hockey players singing.

Wilson responded with a simple “fuck it”.

“I thought it was a huge success, but I never saw it live,” said Wilson. “He hit the air and I ended up with him on the body soon after. I think it’s a great hockey move and I’m going to watch the replay. “
The Penguins gave Jankowski the opportunity to speak his mind after the game, along with striker Brandon Tanev. Both players avoided talking too much and did not have an opinion on the coup.
“I just hit the record on their end and I kind of turned around – I was about to change – I got hit,” said Jankowski.
“Obviously, we saw the game develop and what happened, and the referees thought it was a penalty and paid,” added Tanev. “It is not in our control. It depends on the referees and their judgment and what they want to do in the situation. So, we just have to keep playing and playing the right way. “
Wilson would later score the winning goal in the third period.
“I thought he was really good,” said Peter Laviolette. “He played fast. He played physique. He was hard. “
