Report: Titans exchange Isaiah Wilson for Dolphins

USA TODAY Sports

The Titans gave up ex-first-round Isaiah Wilson, sending him to the Dolphins on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

The Titans receive a seventh round choice in 2021, while the Dolphins receive a seventh round selection in 2022, along with Wilson, according to Albert Breer of SI.com.

It is a low risk and high reward acquisition for Dolphins.

Tennessee used the 29th overall choice over Wilson last spring, but he made more headlines off the field than inside him.

Wilson, who turned 22 last month, played just four snaps as a rookie. His first season included an arrest for DUI, a suspension for violating team rules, a couple of tickets on the reserve / COVID-19 list, and placing on the non-football illness list to work on personal issues.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson said recently that Wilson must “make a decision” if he wants to play football professionally. Soon after, Wilson posted and deleted a tweet saying he had stopped playing for the Titans.

Wilson, it seems, was correct.

He now has a chance to start over in Miami.
