Everyone imagined that the Eagles would trade Zach Ertz at some point in the off-season. Everyone includes Zach Ertz, who acknowledged at the end of the season that he did not know if he would stay in Philadelphia.
The point seems to be approaching.
Michael Silver of NFL Media reports that several teams have called the Eagles about Ertz and a deal could happen in the next few days.
The eagles will look very different in 2021, with coach Doug Pederson, defender Carson Wentz and receiver DeSean Jackson among those who left. Ertz appears next to come out the door.
Ertz, 30, made just 36 receptions for 335 yards and a touchdown in 11 games, the worst statistical season in his eight-year career.
Ertz is scheduled to receive a base salary of $ 8.25 million in 2021, while carrying a maximum cap of $ 12.5 million and a maximum deadline of $ 7.8 million.
The Eagles do not have a salary cap and have Dallas Goedert in position, so Ertz will not play another season in Philadelphia. The only question is what the eagles can achieve for him.
