This Russell Wilson story is starting to get reallyyyyyy interesting. After the drama began to unfold last week, a report came out on Wednesday that the Seahawks were unhappy with the way Wilson’s unhappiness was exposed so publicly. Now, ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports that not only have the Seahawks started responding to team calls about their disgruntled QB.

“I know there were calls made on both sides,” said Russini on the Pat McAfee program on Thursday. “From Seattle and other teams.”
When McAfee heard this, he literally jumped out of his chair, and for good reason. This is the first indication that we heard that the Seahawks are considering the idea of changing their franchise defender. This also contrasts sharply with the trade rumors coming from Houston, as the Texans have remained firm in declaring publicly that they have no intention of doing business with Deshaun Watson, even if he wants to leave. Behind the scenes, the story is the same. Last month, Adam Schefter reported that, despite numerous calls, Texans insist he is not available.
But after reporting that the Seahawks were at least getting involved with other teams about a possible Wilson exchange, Russini used Twitter to clarify his comments.
“I learned early in my career that you have to be very careful with the wording of ‘asking for a change, demanding a change’,” said Russini on the Pat McAfee program. “The word ‘demand’, in terms of Russell Wilson, I don’t feel that.”
Whether Wilson spoke these magic words or not, things are clearly more serious than we previously thought.
