The Patriots agreed to negotiate with free agents in various positions, but they did not bring a new running back at this point.

They are supposed to be looking for one, however. Michael Giardi of NFL Media reports that the team expressed “Strong interest” in Leonard Fournette and that they were also in contact with Chris Carson.

Fournette played with former Patriots Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski in Tampa last season, while Carson has spent the past four seasons in Seattle. Another report on Tuesday indicated that the Seahawks made an offer for Fournette services.

The privateers are reportedly trying to hold Fournette and are also linked to Tiago White, which closes things off, as White has spent his entire career with the Patriots.
